- Asbestos Management
The purpose of asbestos management is to prevent the exposure to airborne asbestos now and for the duration of the time asbestos containing materials (ACMs) are present on your premises.
To do this you must identify the person within your organisation who will be responsible for that management. The designated dutyholder must put in place a written asbestos management plan which will include an asbestos register. This register should include the location and conditions of the ACMs.
As holders of the BOHS P405 qualification AMCI are ideally placed to assist in the production of this management plan for the client.
Asbestos Surveys
The aim of an asbestos survey is, as far as reasonably practicable, to locate and assess the condition of all the ACMs present in the building and its purpose is to present the information collected in a way which allows you to assess and manage the risk. There are two types of asbestos survey referred to in HSG264
Management Survey : Standard sampling, identification and assessment survey (sampling survey)
Refurbishment/Demolition : Full access sampling and identification survey (pre-demolition/major refurbishment survey)
As holders of the BOHS P402 qualification AMCI surveyors are qualified to carry out all types of asbestos surveys.

Removal of Asbestos
AMCI can remove all types of non-licensable asbestos. We can arrange and manage the removal of licensable asbestos using one of our partners or the clients preferred removals contractor.
Asbestos Testing
AMCI can arrange to have suspect materials sampled and analysed by a UKAS accredited laboratory. This can be either via a site visit by one of our surveyors or by receiving the suspect sample at our premises.
Samples are analysed by a UKAS accredited laboratory and results provided to the client by email, fax or post within 2 working days or earlier if required (surcharges apply).
